
Men’s Sheds Canada is exhibiting at the Canadian Conference on Gerontology and Geriatrics October 24th – 26th in Edmonton. In addition, MSC is presenting a half-day pre-Conference symposium – a series of presentations to researchers and a workshop to plan for future research.

MSC Presents Dr. Barry Golding, PhD
Men’s Sheds Canada is pleased to present a keynote webinar featuring Dr. Barry Golding AM, Honorary Professor in Adult and Community Education at Federation University, Australia. Widely recognized as a global authority on Men’s Sheds, Dr. Golding is the author of The Men’s Shed Movement: The Company of Men and Shoulder to Shoulder: Broadening the Men’s Shed Movement. The session will address evidence-informed research on the positive health impacts of Men’s Sheds, compiled through his books and many research publications.

Men’s Shed Canada and Men’s Shed Association of British Columbia will be exhibiting at the 2024 B.C. Provincial Summit on Aging Nov 5 – 7, 2024, in Richmond, B.C. The fourth biennial B.C. Summit brings together Community-Based Seniors’ Services (CBSS) organizations, older adults, family and friend caregivers, academia, and government representatives to discuss and collaborate on current issues and innovations in healthy aging. Quebec ShedFest
On November 21, MSC Board member Robert Elhen and the Lac Brome Men’s Shed will welcome members of existing Men’s groups in Quebec who have expressed interest in joining the Men’s Shed movement. The group will meet to share local best practices and discuss the establishment of a Quebec Men’s Shed Association. Two research professionals from L’Université de Sherbrooke, Philippe Roy (specializing in men’s mental health) and Samuele Remillard Boilard (specializing in aging) will be on hand to discuss a research collaboration designed to measure the mental health benefits of Men’s Sheds.
