The Men’s Shed movement has spread to many countries throughout the world. Numbers of Sheds fluctuate, however this list provides a general impression of where Sheds exist and the approximate number in each country.

Australia:                    Approximately 1,300 Men’s Sheds
United Kingdom:       Over 700 Men’s Sheds
Ireland:                       Around 450 Men’s Sheds
New Zealand:            Over 120 Men’s Sheds
United States:           Around 40 Men’s Sheds
Canada:                      Over 150 Men’s Sheds
Denmark:                   Around 33 Men’s Sheds
South Africa:              10+ Men’s Sheds
Kenya:                        About 8 Men’s Sheds
Japan:                         5 Sheds and growing

Other countries, including Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Japan, Cayman Islands, and Democratic Republic of the Congo have also begun to establish Men’s Sheds, adapting the concept to their local cultures and needs.

The International Men’s Sheds Organization has been established to promote Men’s Sheds and connect people with country associations.
